These things happened this week
- In Berlin we had a surprise text from EasyJet to say our Monday flight home was cancelled, so we stayed an extra day. Boo hoo 🎻
- On the Tuesday we got to the gate early but weren’t sure if it was the right place, and nor was anyone else. At one point a security guard came by and I thought they were going to shoo us to somewhere else. Turns out they were also lost 😂.
- Back in Brighton, I met up with Alice for a coffee and a lovely catch up. Then she rode off into the sunset to do parenting™.
- Someone in a cafe was talking about Berghain to their friend, and how they didn’t get in. I’ve only been once and I got in with my work laptop and work clothes 🤷🏻[Jump to footnote 2]
- Stewart Lee walked past me in the street. It’s officially Brighton Fringe season.
- I went for a taxi ride with my befriendee to pick up their new puppy! It could have gone so many shades of wrong, but it all worked out perfectly[Jump to footnote 3].
- As is often the way, I’d run out of spoons for the weekend, which meant missing a joint 40th birthday party for some dear old friends 😔
Overheard through the days
- “I got unofficially banned from London”
- [In a cafe] “Next time I’ll just bring my own milk”
- “He wanted two mannequins that he could dress up”
Yours,Leaf

- I used to live really near to Berghain; it seems silly now that I only went once because it was a really fun night/morning 🪩 Jump to source of footnote 2
- Ignoring the fact that the puppy threw up in the taxi just before arriving back, the poor thing Jump to source of footnote 3
- She asked me to clarify here that she does think that caravans are cool Jump to source of footnote 4
