Preamble
For Easter I went on two family holidays[Jump to footnote 1], back to back: My family and then Emma’s. It was lovely to see everyone but it was a lot. Two! I love our families but I’m realising that smaller catch-ups are better for me rather than multi-day breaks.
These things happened this week
- For the holiday with my family I spent half of the time napping, recovering from the other half which involved entertaining my nephews with hide and seek, badminton, and some made up games.
- Emma and I went to a nearish cottage after that, where we hung out with her family for a few days.
- I say we: It was mostly Emma hanging out with them because it turns out, if you forget that taking too high a dose of CBD gives you debilitating levels of existential dread, you spend a few days on your own in one room, scared to leave it. So that was a bit of a weird time, lol.
Overheard through the days
- “When he stands up he looks like a draught excluder”
- “I don’t wanna play Cluedo, I wanna be bored”
-
[Chat on a public bench between two men who looked like they’d seen
better days]
A: “You seem more better now. Before, I see pain, but now no.”
B: “Yes. How are you.”
A: “Me? I am happy because I find you.”
